The Westinghouse Sweden Nuclear Fuel Factory is situated in Västerås, Sweden. The factory is responsible for the entire chain from research and development to manufacturing of nuclear fuel. In 1968 the nuclear fuel production started on Finnslätten in Västerås, where they produced fuel for the first commercial nuclear reactor (Oskarshamn 1). The present factory have been in operation since 1971 and it produces approximately 400 tons of uranium dioxide per year.[1]
