mostly in the soauthwestern parts of poland uranium mining took place in the 1950s and 60. Today there are no mining activities anymore but still several hundred mostly abondend dumps of waste rock and urinum ore of aproximatly 14 000 000 m³ size in total as well as one tailing pond, wich has been the object of a remediation project.
