Blockade of the Grohnde NPP (Lower Saxony, Germany) on October 2-3, 2011

Photo: Falk Beyer

The last climbing activist had abseiled from the bridge, and police immediately tried to catch them, while all other climbers could go unbothered. A crowd of people tries to protect them against the indiscriminating police operation.

The climbing activist is showing their ID as the police argues they want to detain her for checking her identity, although they addressed her personally knowing her name already. Anyway, it was obviously just an excuse for the police, they wanted to detain her in any case.

Discussion with police whether or not they are allowed to arrest the activist
